Maybe I'm sentimental, but I miss the old wooden picnic table in my grandparents had in the yard. The majority of garden furniture that now looks like a poor substitute for the beautiful old redwood table with the fabric to the board. I have a few tools in my shop, so last week I went looking for some picnic table plans - hoping to build the same kind of childhood picnic table so my memories.
Basic> Picnic Table Construction
The picnic table plans I finally decided to go with a table for a block style - something that was very similar to what my grandparents. He claims that the relatively simple structure, a kind of woodworking glue-screw that uses simple butt joints and adhesives outside. There's nothing too complicated. And I can cut wood with a cordless saw. Then it's just a matter of all the pieces are glued and screwed withHardware.
Start with your feet
Instead of just born with legs (like the cheap tables), table stand has two distinct sections table legs are at each end. Two long tables spread mulch between the two legs and keeps everything firm and square. I am the project of starting a foot for each leg. Then I have the same leg, which includes a wooden bar do (train) along the top of the table supportthemselves.
Fill in the Base
Until now I have been able to do most of the building down in my basement shop. But before I put the legs to the stretchers, I'm going to need to move around in the garage or patio. At this point it is probably easier to complete the floor facing the table on his head. With drill in hand, my next step is to drill, tighten screws and wood glue to attach the legs to the base name.
Make theTop
For the above plans picnic table to call my friends for the 2x6 and 2x4 is held together by alternating strips of wood 1x4 "prisoners." Place all the cards on the floor, edges, and then take the prisoners with wood screws. I will be with a series of 1 / 4 "thick spacer and a few clamps the panels holding steady, while I mounted the cleats.
Bring It All Together
With the tip still being put together on the head, I lay the foundation completed andpuncture and wear it in the table. Standing in front of the table, I attach the two outer rails above for added strength. After applying some construction adhesive, I'll go 4 "long screws through the outer rail and the leg, the inner rail. Now is the time to reverse the table in the upright position.
